All Holiday activities run from 9.30am until 3.00pm.


CROSS COUNTRY DAY INCLUDING COURSE HIRE is £90

The cost per day for all other activities is £70 to be paid in advance.

All holiday activities are subject to a non-cancellation policy.

All holiday activities subject to a non-cancellation policy.

what to bring/wear

Please read the list below with what you need to wear for all holiday activities:


  • Riding Hat (Hats can be hired if needed). 
  • Riding boots/Wellies (No trainers).
  • Jodphurs/comfortable Trousers (no shorts/skirts).
  • Warm Waterproof Clothing (incase of bad weather). 
  • Gloves.
  • Suncream (Warmer weather).
  • Body Protector (Recommended but not compulsory for flat work however it is compulsory for any jumping/hacking activities).


What you need to bring with you on the day of your activity:

  • Emergency contact numbers. 
  • New rider disclaimer form (if you haven't ridden with us before).
  • Lunch and drinks (no nuts). 
  • Spare clothes (incase of bad/cold weather).
  • Riding attire (as listed above).
  • Any emergency medications (in a named box) and a written protocol of dosage/when to use (e.g. Inhalers, Epi-pens etc).
  • Suncream (if wanting to reapply throughout the day on sunnier days).

Types of holiday activities

Pony day

 ‘Own a pony’ for the  day to  Include:

  • Basic stable management.
  • Talk on safety around horses.
  • Grooming.
  • Short lectures about feeding, grooming and care of your pony.
  • One hours lesson.
  • Hack out.
  • Cleaning tack.
  • Rosette given at the end of the day.
  • Suitable for Five years and over.

Games day

Suitable for riders competent in walk and trot.

A day full of Gymkhana races to include:

  • Walking race.
  • Trotting race.
  • Walk, Trot, Canter race.
  • Canter race.
  • Bending race.
  • Egg and Spoon race.
  • Ride and lead race.
  • Musical cones.
  • Slalom.
  • Beat the clock.
  • Rosettes for every class

Fun day

Suitable for Intermediate level riders who have learnt to jump, to include:

  • Minute game.
  • Clear round jumping.
  • Pairs jumping. 
  • Ride and run jumping.
  • Take your own line. 
  • Chase me Charlie.
  • Rosettes for every class.

Cross country day

Suitable for riders that have been jumping for a longer period of time over bigger fences. All riders must wear body protectors, gloves and long-sleeved tops, to include:

  • Working in, around the Cross-Country field.
  • Theory.
  • Jumping each XC fence individually.
  • Jumping a course. 


Every rider taking part for the first time MUST print off, fill in and hand in the disclaimer form to Kim prior to mounting up at the beginning of the day.

The Cross-country day is £80 which includes the £20 course hire. 

Cross Country Disclaimer

Bronze Day

Suitable for riders 12 Years and over wanting to learn a little  more about how to care for a horse.  This is a continual assessment  throughout the day,  each section must be passed for the rider to achieve their Bronze award.  It is great for those who think they  would like to own their own pony and a necessity for those who want to  join the Riding Club at Kim’s Equestrian.  This day includes:


  • Correct technique.
  • Understanding the horses welfare and requirements.
  • Ability to handle a variety of different horses in a safe and calm manner.
  • Basic stable management.
  • Catching in/turning out.
  • Tacking up.
  • Cleaning tack.
  • Rugging up and adjusting straps.
  • Mounting up other riders using a mounting block and giving a leg up.
  • Leading.
  • Grooming.
  • Safety around horses.
  • Psychology of the horse.
  • Natural instincts and behaviour of the horse.
  • Equipment used.
  • Bronze day Rosettes presented to candidates that meet requirements.

HorseBall

Suitable for experienced riders only aged 10 plus. Horseball is a game with two teams played on horseback. It is a cross between Polo, Rugby and Basketball. The object of the game is to pass to your team members and shoot the ball through the hoop to score points for your team. THIS IS NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED! 

Horse owners guide

To Include:

  • Know your horse and understand his individual needs.
  • Mucking out/Bedding down.
  • Types of bedding advantages/disadvantages.
  • Feeding and watering.
  • Stable design.
  • T.P.R
  • Daily Routines.
  • Recognising ill-health and lameness.
  • Basic first aid and when to call your vet.
  • Colic.


Trim and Tidy

Suitable for 12 years and over.

To Include:

  • Trimming bridle paths, feathers and tails.
  • Pulling manes and tidy.
  • Plaiting.
  • Clipping.
  • Grooming.
  • Understanding the saddle and bridle.
  • Parts of the saddle and bridle. 
  • Dismantle and ensemble a bridle and saddle.
  • Cleaning and nourishing the tack.



Pony club mounted games (riding club members only)

Pony club mounted games for riding club members at intermediate level only .

This is the next level up from the games day so pretty fast and furious for all those who like a bit of speed ! 

The day will consist  of morning training followed by afternoon competitions to include:

  • Bending
  • 2 mug
  • Mug changes
  • 4 flag
  • 2 flag
  • Ball and cone
  • Sock and bucket 
  • Pyramid 
  • Stepping stones
  • Bottle
