PLEASE NOTE: By booking a lesson, hack or holiday activity, you are confirming that you accept our Terms and Conditions of booking, as set out below. New riders will be asked to sign a form to this effect on arrival.
Parents or carers will need to sign on behalf of Under 18s or vulnerable adults.
Riders (and their parents) should be aware that horse riding at any level has inherent risks and that all horses may react unpredictably on occasions, when the rider may be unseated and possibly substain injury.
Instructions are given for the safety of all riders and spectators, who, by coming onto the riding school, are giving their agreement to follow instructions given by staff and instructors of the riding school.
Riding hats must be to current British standards PAS015 or equivalent.
Riding boots or wellies to be worn (no trainers) allowed for safety purposes.
Body protectors are not mandatory but advisable.
Please arrive to your lesson on time. If the lesson has already started riders will not be able to join and the full cost of the lesson must be paid. This is due to the fact it disrupts the group lesson and the horses have missed their warm up.
The riding school will make decisions based on information given to them by customers/parents who must always be honest and volunteer accurate information about their abilities and riding experience. Kim’s Equestrian should also be informed about any previous riding accidents and any medical condition(s) which may affect their ability to ride.
Children are at particular risk around horses and customers/parents/spectators must keep any children, for whom they are responsible, under close supervision when they are not being instructed by the riding school.
Staff of the riding school may refuse customers’ requests to ride for safety or operational reasons.
There is a strict requirement for 48 hours’ notice of cancellation of lessons or hacks or the full fee is payable. This includes cancellation due to ill health. There is a non- cancellation policy for holiday activities and block bookings.
Horses and ponies that have been booked in advance may not be available to ride and Kim’s Equestrian reserves the right to change horses and ponies without notice.
Kim’s Equestrian reserves the right to change Instructors without notice.
ADDITIONAL TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR HACKS
New Customers, who have not learnt to ride at Kim’s Equestrian, may be requested to undertake a short riding ability assessment, to demonstrate their competency to ride safely on a hack.
The decision of the Assessor as to whether or not it is safe for a customer to hack out is final.
In the event that it is decided a hack cannot take place, a lesson will be offered instead, to be taken during the rest of the time available.
The lesson cannot be re-booked for another time and no payment is refundable in the event that the customer declines to have the lesson.
We are fully insured and licensed by St Albans District Council.
However, riding is a risk sport. Horses can be unpredictable and you ride at your own risk.

Please fully read our website and terms and conditions prior to contacting Kim for bookings.
Please note -
ONLY CONTACT KIM VIA TEXT BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 9.30AM-5PM. DUE TO HAVING LIVESTOCK HER PHONE IS ON 24/7 AND EARLY/LATE MESSAGES ARE NOT APPRECIATED.
