New hat legislation
IMPORTANT UPDATE For New and current clients. New legislation from January 2023 states that All riding hats must meet the requirements of the literature posted above. The majority of my clients will probably have hats with the standard PAS 015 . The year printed inside your hat should be 2011 and or above. Please be responsible and check this prior to attending your lesson and replace your hat if it doesn't fall within the legal requirements . Anyone who fails to do this and arrives with an old standard hat will forfeit their lesson without a refund . Please note we will be making spot checks !
LOOK AFTER YOUR HAT BY FOLLOWING THESE STEPS.
Don't swing your hat around incase you drop it !
Don't store them in the car as they don't like changes in temperature.
Check the straps are in good condition.
Replace your hat if you have a fall and hit your head ( your hat will do its job once but is unlikely to protect your head sufficiently well for a second time ).
Store your hat in a safe place and kids don't play with it as its not a toy !
Do not dry your hat on the radiator if wet.
Replace your hat if it's more than 5 years old . The outer shell may look fine but you can't see the impact protection foam inside and it may have been compromised/damaged after a fall or if dropped.
